The range of Hindustani Art Music is so vast. In reality Indian Classical music represented by lots of unique instrument like santur, Sitar, harmonium, tabla or some traditionally rich tala systems as trital, dadra, kaharba. Based on this type of tala system Indian music is fully equipped with various musical raga, gharana or anga. Khayal, dhrupad, thungri, ghazal are some popular music culture of Indian music world.

Through out the thousand years Indian music has developed and being rich for its unique style and melody. Since different peoples of different races and cultures have been involved in this development, it has become very complex and immense field of Indian culture.
We have no clue about many ancient formulations, texts, musical notes, written discussions of immense Indian music. But some written notes by Indian monks as well as foreign visitors, we get some clues about it. We come to know that in unusual cases an early musical approach may be conserved in a continuous oral practice. As an example, musical annotations or the composition of a raga, as we practice today, must have had their origins in the Samavedic eras. Also old temple paintings and sculptures offer some clues that the ancient Indian musicians used almost the same kind of instruments common these days.
