Is Delhi Ready For 2010 Commonwealth

Englishman Astley Cooper proposed of a sporting contest amongst the countries of the British Commonwealth way back in 1891. Writing for a magazine, Cooper suggested a festival combining sporting, military and literary events that would draw closer the ties and increase the goodwill and understanding of the British Empire.

Delhi is getting ready for the grand sports event of 2010 Commonwealth games. The city of Delhi is expected to greet 1.8 Million foreign visitors and 3.5 Million National Visitors. The organizing committee working under Mr. Suresh Kalmadi has tighten its belts. The preparations are proceeding on many fronts like transportation, sports facilities, training facilities, lodging facilities, security, entertainment, shopping arcades and a free trip to Taj Mahal, Agra.

Foreign guests can also enjoy lip smacking chaat, golgappe, tikki, dahi bhalle in old Delhi's famous streets. Besides these they can also enjoy paneer tikka, mughlai dishes, punjabi dishes, spicy non-veg items, chole bhature etc.

Tourist can't miss the delicious sweets of Delhi. There are a lot of places in Delhi, where tourists can enjoy these local foods items like Bengali Market, Sunder Nagar, Greater Kailash, old Delhi, many food joints, local restaurants, etc.

    Such sporting events are great

    Such sporting events are great for building bridges among nations. These events include different sporting activities which I think is the best part; I especially like the shooting game; I am involved with this sport for a long time. Right now I am planning to buy some used guns for sale.
